Privacy Policy

Your files

3D files you open on STL Viewer Online (STL, OBJ, GLB, 3MF, PLY or any other format) are parsed and rendered entirely in your web browser. They are not uploaded to our servers or to anyone else's. We cannot see, store or access the contents of your files, the models they describe, or the repaired and converted files you download. Screenshots are generated on your device and saved by your browser. Closing the tab removes the model from memory.

Information we collect

We do not offer accounts and do not ask for personal information. Our web server and content delivery network may log standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, referring page and time of access, used only for security and to keep the site running. If you contact us by email, we keep the message to answer it.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used (pages visited, approximate location, device type). It does not receive your files or anything about them. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes data under Google's privacy policy. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Advertising

We may show advertisements served by Google AdSense and labelled sponsor placements. When ads are shown, Google and its partners use cookies, including the DoubleClick cookie, to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info. Third-party vendors may also use cookies to serve ads; their use of cookies is subject to their own policies. Advertising never has access to the files you open.

Local storage

We store your dark-mode preference and viewer settings such as colour and unit choice in your browser's local storage. The installed (PWA) version caches the site's own files on your device so it works offline. Neither contains your models.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
